Austrak Drive Development

Construction commenced in July 2005 of the new 22.5 thousand square metre site at 55 Austrak Drive, Somerton. The building will consolidate all manufacturing, warehousing and administration currently spread across 4 sites in Campbellfield.

The new $10 million acrylic coater was the first equipment to be installed which started in November 2005. The coating division has now been manufacturing both hot-melt and acrylic products at the new site since early May.

Roll-fed printing equipment started moving over in June and will take until September before all capacity is fully operational. This includes the installation of 4 new presses with web widths ranging from 400mm to 1000mm. The transfer of all finished goods to the new dispatch and stock holding area will be complete in July.

The first sheet-fed capacity to be operational will be 2 new MAN Roland 700’s which arrived in June. Once they are running the balance of both printing and finishing equipment will start to move over and be fully operational by October / November.

Sales, Customer Service, Administration and Pre-press will move over the months of August and September
